In New Zealand, Primary School Rugby is the breeding ground for the future of the sport; therefore it is imperative that junior players enjoy their rugby experience from a young age.

At the Primary School level Rugby is about bringing people together and having fun…we are also very lucky that the sport offers a fantastic opportunity for developing people and helps instil healthy exercise habits, discipline, passion, perseverance, tradition, respect for rules and opponents, and teamwork into young people.  This makes rugby an excellent vehicle for promoting life skills in our children.

Within Taranaki we are fortunate that we have tremendous supporters and volunteers operating at the Primary School level, ranging from Principals to teachers, caretakers, support staff and parents. The hard work of these people has resulted in the legacy of a comprehensive range of rugby competitions at the Primary School level, each with its own proud history.
